Clifton Heights is…
… a friendly and inviting neighborhood that is highlighted by a wonderful park with a playground and Clifton Park Lake, an ideal location for hosting neighborhood-wide events throughout the year. The neighborhood is mostly residential, with a history dating back to the late 1800s and houses of varying architectural styles, including some Victorians and numerous Arts and Crafts homes. The curving streets surrounding the park and the hills that slope downward toward I-44 are somewhat unusual for St. Louis, and give the neighborhood a distinctive feeling. Bounded on the north and west by I-44, on the east by Hampton Avenue and on the south by Arsenal Street, Clifton Heights is conveniently located in southwest St. Louis and provides easy access to events and activities throughout St. Louis City and County, as well as numerous attractions within Forest Park.
Clifton Heights follows the natural contours of the south-city landscape. The result is a neighborhood of steep streets with gentle curves ending in a circle surrounding scenic Clifton Park. Clifton Heights is bounded on the north and west by I-44, on the east by Hampton Avenue and on the south by Arsenal Street. Surrounding neigborhoods include The Hill, Ellendale, Dogtown, and Lindenwood Park.
